Privacy Policy
Version 1.1 · Published August 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Dead End collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when you use The Dead End websites, Dead End ID, Store, Support, downloads, games, software, and related platform services.
This policy applies to platform-level data. Individual games or software may provide supplemental privacy notices when they process additional categories of information.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Depending on the features you use, we may collect:
• Account information, such as username, display name, email address, verification status, avatar, biography, and account preferences.
• Authentication and security information, such as sessions, login timestamps, IP addresses, device/browser information, password-reset records, verification events, security events, and account-recovery activity.
• Transaction and entitlement information, such as order identifiers, products, SKUs, prices, currency, payment status, fulfillment status, licenses, subscriptions, refunds, and product access.
• Support and communications information, such as support tickets, messages, attachments, email delivery records, preferences, and correspondence.
• Product and service information, such as downloads, product access, game or software data, feature usage, settings, and operational logs where required to provide or secure a product.
• Content you submit, such as profile information, feedback, posts, files, or other material submitted through features that accept User Content.
• Technical information, such as browser type, operating system, request logs, error records, timestamps, security identifiers, and similar diagnostics.
3. HOW WE USE INFORMATION
We may use information to:
• create, verify, authenticate, recover, and secure Dead End IDs;
• provide products, downloads, entitlements, subscriptions, Store functions, Support, and other requested services;
• process and document transactions and refunds;
• maintain security, prevent fraud, investigate abuse, enforce rules, and protect users and infrastructure;
• operate multiplayer, community, moderation, and product features where applicable;
• send transactional messages, account notices, support communications, and communications you have chosen to receive;
• diagnose errors, maintain availability, measure product performance, and improve services;
• comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements; and
• maintain records reasonably necessary for business, security, accounting, and legal purposes.
4. PAYMENT INFORMATION
When payment processing is enabled, payment transactions may be handled by third-party payment providers. Depending on the provider, The Dead End may receive transaction identifiers, payment status, billing metadata, limited payment-method information, or other records needed to fulfill and support the purchase.
The Dead End does not claim to store full payment-card data unless a future payment implementation expressly states that it does so and provides the required disclosures and safeguards.
5. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
We may share information:
• with service providers that help operate hosting, email, payment, security, analytics, support, storage, or other platform functions;
• when you direct us to interact with a third-party service;
• to protect the rights, safety, security, or integrity of The Dead End, users, or others;
• to investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of platform rules;
• when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request;
• in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable legal requirements; or
• with your consent or as otherwise disclosed when information is collected.
We do not describe personal information as "sold" merely because a service provider processes it on our behalf. If The Dead End later engages in activity legally defined as a sale or sharing that requires an opt-out or other choice, the policy and controls must be updated before that practice is implemented.
6. COOKIES, SESSIONS, AND LOCAL STORAGE
The platform may use cookies, sessions, local storage, or similar technologies for authentication, security, preferences, theme settings, functionality, and other operational purposes.
Additional consent or controls will be provided where required by applicable law for non-essential technologies.
7. DATA RETENTION
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including account operation, purchases, entitlements, security, fraud prevention, support, legal compliance, accounting, dispute resolution, and enforcement.
Retention periods may differ by data category. Some transaction, security, backup, or legal records may remain after account deletion when retention is reasonably necessary or legally required.
8. SECURITY
The Dead End uses administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information appropriate to the nature of the service and data involved. These may include server-side authorization, access controls, secure session practices, logging, encrypted transport, least-privilege access, and other safeguards.
No internet service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
9. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or information about certain uses or disclosures of personal information.
Dead End ID provides account and preference controls for information that can reasonably be self-managed. Additional privacy requests may be submitted through Support or the published privacy/legal contact method.
We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Some information may be retained or excluded from a request when permitted or required by law, including security, fraud-prevention, transaction, accounting, dispute, or legal records.
10. EMAIL AND COMMUNICATION PREFERENCES
Transactional messages necessary for account security, purchases, service operation, legal notices, or Support may be sent even if you opt out of optional promotional communications.
Where optional marketing or announcement emails are offered, you may use the provided preference or unsubscribe controls.
11. CHILDREN
The Dead End is a general-audience service and is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly permit children under 13 to create Dead End IDs.
If we learn that personal information was collected from a child under 13 in circumstances where parental consent or another legal basis was required and not obtained, we will take appropriate steps consistent with applicable law.
12. INTERNATIONAL USE
The Dead End may be accessed from different locations. Information may be processed in countries where The Dead End or its service providers operate. Where applicable law requires particular protections for international transfers, we will use legally recognized safeguards appropriate to the transfer.
13. AUTOMATED AND AI-ASSISTED FEATURES
Some products may use AI-assisted functions. Product interfaces or supplemental notices should identify material AI-specific data practices when they differ from the ordinary platform practices described here.
The Dead End does not treat an object identifier, URL, or mere knowledge of a record's existence as authorization to access private account, support, product, or business information.
14. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy as products, services, providers, or legal requirements change. The current version and publication date will be displayed on the platform.
If a change materially affects how personal information is used, we will provide additional notice or choice when required by law. A Terms update alone will not be treated as consent to materially different data practices where applicable law requires more.
15. CONTACT
Privacy questions and requests may be submitted through The Dead End Support Center or the privacy/legal contact method published on the website.
